Sharp Corporation (シャープ株式会社, shāpu kabushiki-gaisha?) (TSE : 6753, LuxSE: SRP) est un fabricant japonais d'électronique. Son siège est à Ōsaka, au Japon.
En 1912, Tokuji Hayakawa fonde un atelier de métallurgie à Tōkyō et invente en 1915 le premier portemine mécanique, nommé Ever-Sharp Pencil (le crayon toujours bien taillé) qui donna sa raison sociale à l'entreprise. Au fil du temps, l'entreprise a diversifié ses activités dans trois secteurs :
- électronique grand public (audiovisuel, téléphonie, électroménager) ;
- électronique professionnelle (télécopie, calcul, systèmes d'impression, systèmes d'encaissement) ;
- composants (électroniques, circuits intégrés, affichages à cristaux liquides, solaire).
Avec près de 50 000 salariés dont environ la moitié se trouvent hors du Japon, répartis dans vingt-neuf pays, Sharp Corporation a réalisé en 2003 un chiffre d'affaires consolidé de 16,833 milliards de dollars.
Sharp a sponsorisé le club anglais de Manchester United de 1982 à 2000.
Sharp est l'inventeur du LCD (liquid crystal display) (Écran à cristaux liquides).
