Associated Press (AP) est une agence de presse américaine, la plus importante au monde[réf. nécessaire]. Elle a 145 bureaux aux États-Unis et 95 dans 72 autres pays.

Origine
AP fut fondée en mai 1848 par six journaux new-yorkais sous la forme d'une coopérative. Leur but était de mutualiser leurs efforts pour collecter des nouvelles sur l'étranger et notamment l'Europe.
Récompenses
Associated Press est le média le plus primé au Pulitzer avec un total de 45 récompenses (18 pour des écrits et 27 pour des photos) [1].
