Il a été drafté au 1er tour (1er choix) en 2002 par les Houston Texans.

Il a dépassé une fois les 3000 yards à la passe par saison.

Depuis 2007, il porte le maillot des Panthers de la Caroline et est ensuite transféré chez les New York Giants. Il évolue maintenant chez les San Francisco 49ers.
