Les Aujla sont une lignée faisant partie des Jats descendants directs de Hahujal Rajput appartenant au Kshatriyas et à la dynastie lunaire (lignage Somavamsha ou Chandravamsha selon le Mahābhārata) dont le plus célèbre ancêtre est le dieu Krishna.
Ils se trouvent essentiellement à Sialkot, ville située dans le nord de la province du Penjab au Pakistan, mais aussi à Montgomery ou à Aujla Khurd où ils sont de religion musulmane et classés comme agriculteurs, grands propriétaires terriens, souvent dans l'armée (par exemple dans le Sikh Regiment) mais également de nombreux Aujla ont été répertoriés dans les chercheurs à la NASA[1] mais également dans la partie indienne du Pendjab à Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Chandigardh mais encore au Royaume-Uni,Canada,États-Unis où dans la large majorité ils sont de confession sikhe.
