DJ Plague (de son vrai nom, Ian Wright) est un producteur de musique/DJ canadien de Speedcore et de Hardcore. Il est co-fondateur du label Canadian Speedcore Resistance (CSR), le label de Speedcore le plus influent au Canada.

Historique

Né à Toronto au Canada, DJ Plague débute sa carrière de DJ dans le but de montrer à son pays qu'il existe un genre musical plus puissant et plus rapide que le Hardcore. Co-créateur du label T.H.R (Toronto Hardcore Resistance), il tente de se fonder une réputation dans le Hardcore à Toronto, mais compose, plus tard, dans un style plus hard et plus rapide; c'est alors qu'il fonde, avec Interrupt Vector, le label Canadian Speedcore Resistance.

Lancé grâce à la création du site Speedcore.ca, et aux raves organisées à Montréal par un autre DJ Speedcore québécois nommé Terrorist Kriss, la scène du Speedcore grandit au Canada. La commercialisation du label C.S.R prend de l'ampleur grâce au premier maxi catalogué CSR01 et au tout premier DVD intitulé "Sleeper Cell". En 2003, C.S.R ne cesse de devenir célèbre depuis que DJ Plague a mixé en Italie et en Suisse. Il s'en suivi par un tour en Europe, durant deux mois, aux Pays-Bas, en Allemagne, en Suisse et en France. Le label a également participé à une vidéo d' Hellraiser aux Pays-Bas[1].

Depuis que C.S.R prend plus d'ampleur qu'avant, l'équipe de focalise sur une réputation mondiale du Speedcore. À cette occasion, Ian Wright ouvre le site Speedcoreworldwide.com dans l'effort de créer une communauté Speedcore mondiale[2].
