Les Lennon Sisters sont un groupe musical constitué de quatre sœurs ; Dianne (1er décembre 1939), Peggy (8 avril 1941), Kathy (2 août 1943) et Janet (15 juin 1946). Elles sont toutes nées à Los Angeles, en Californie. Elles étaient les 4 plus âgées dans leur famille de 12 frères et sœurs.
Le quatuor débuta sa carrière au Laurence Welk Show en 1955. Le groupe ne fut composé que de trois sœurs entre 1960 et 1964, l’aînée s’est mariée, elle quitta donc le groupe quelques années avant de réintégrer.
En 1969, les Lennon Sisters commencèrent leur propre show de variété; Jimmy Durante Presents the Lennon Sisters Hour. Dans les années 1970, les sœurs se produisirent aussi régulièrement au Andy Williams Show. Quand Peggy quitta le groupe, en 1999, la plus jeune des sœur (Mimi) pris sa place et quand Dianne quitta définitivement le groupe en 2001, le quatuor devint trio.
Récompenses
En 2001, les Lennon Sisters furent récompensées par le Vocal Group Hall of Fame. Elles possèdent également leur étoile sur le Hollywood Walk of Fame.
