Le Pistolet mitrailleur Lanchester Mk1 est une copie anglaise du MP28. Elle possède une crosse en bois et un tenon pour baïonnette. Elle fut en service dans la Royal Navy durant la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Elle fut alors simplifiée (MK1*). Plus de 100000 PM furent produits et distribués après 1945 au Commonwealth et à la France (Marine nationale et Douanes française.
