Sypnosis

Deux anges déchus, Loki et Bartleby, bloqués sur Terre depuis plusieurs siècles, souhaitent retourner au Paradis. De nos jours, ils trouvent une faille logique qui les nettoierait de leurs péchés et permettrait leur retour au ciel. Dieu charge une femme, Bethany, de les faire renoncer à leur projet, et lui adjoint pour cela le 13e apôtre, deux obsédés sexuels déjantés et le Metatron. De son côté, un démon, Azraël, aide les deux anges déchus : s’ils arrivent à rentrer au paradis cela montrera que Dieu est faillible dans ses décisions et entraînera la fin du monde.

Controverse

À sa sortie, le film a suscité la polémique pour son supposé parti pris anti-religieux, avec des plaintes provenant de la Catholic League[1]. A noter également que le réalisateur-acteur Kevin Smith a su faire preuve d'humour en allant manifester contre son propre film.
