Le pont de Londres (en anglais London Bridge) fut jusqu'en 1750, le seul pont qui enjambait la Tamise au niveau de la City pour rejoindre Southwark (c'est d'ailleurs l'un des quatre ponts gérés par les services du Lord-maire).

Un pont de bois existait déjà sous l'occupation romaine. Il fut remplacé par un ouvrage en pierre au XIIe siècle (construit de 1176 à 1209), et qui comportait 19 arches. Jusqu'en 1770, celui-ci était couvert de maisons, de boutiques et d'une chapelle. L'ouvrage était fortifié, et au-dessus de la porte donnant sur la rive sud, les têtes des condamnés exécutés étaient exposées, plantées au bout d'une pique. Parmi d'autres, celle de Thomas Cromwell y fut exposée.

En 1831, le pont de Londres fut reconstruit en granit par John Rennie. L'édifice jugé trop étroit, fut démonté en 1969 et revendu aux États-Unis, qui le remontèrent dans la ville de Lake Havasu City, dans le comté de Mohave (Arizona). Il fut lui-même remplacé par l'ouvrage actuel, inauguré en 1973 qui est l'œuvre de l'architecte Harold King, qui a fait de ce pont l'un des plus modernes de la ville.

Il ne doit pas être confondu avec le pont basculant : le Tower Bridge.
