Houston Street (Manhattan)

40° 43′ 29″ N 73° 59′ 41″ W / 40.7248, -73.9946 Houston Street est l'une des plus importantes rues de Manhattan, à New York. Houston Street est en effet l'une des rares rues de Manhattan à double sens (les grands axes nord-sud sont des avenues). Elle est située dans Downtown (quartier sud de la ville) et relie d'ouest en est l'Hudson River à l'East River[1]. Elle correspond en outre à la frontière entre le Greenwich Village et SoHo (qui signifie South of Houston Street) à l'ouest, et entre l'East Village et la Lower East Side à l'est. Houston Street sert en outre de point de départ à l'organisation cadastrale de Manhattan imaginée lors du Commissioners' Plan de 1811, puisque First Street est située juste au nord.
