La fonction Hardware Direct MIDI Routing (HDMR) permet de garantir une “latence zéro”. Cette interface que l'on retrouve sur cartes-mères permet donc de "connecter" directement des périphériques MIDI en entrée avec des périphériques MIDI en sortie sans utiliser un logiciel.
La nouveauté principale de cette technologie c'est qu'elle permettra de traiter du son sans avoir besoin d'un ordinateur. Verrons-nous bientôt des routeurs MIDI ?
