Dans le langage courant, un gimmick est un anglicisme qui désigne un élément scénaristique, musical ou visuel (une action, une attitude, un trait de caractère, une expression vocale caricaturale, une phrase musicale etc.) que l'on retrouve de façon récurrente et/ou répétitive dans une série, une bande dessinée, etc.
