Fresh est le premier film de l'écrivain et réalisateur Boaz Yakin, sorti en 1994.
Synopsis
Fresh raconte l'histoire de Michael (Sean Nelson), surnommé Fresh, un garçon de 12 ans faisant passer de la drogue pour le compte des gros dealers locaux (notamment Giancarlo Esposito). S'inspirant des leçons d'échecs de son père (joué par Samuel L. Jackson), un maître du blitz (forme d'échecs où les coups se jouent très rapidement), Fresh établit un plan pour sortir sa sœur droguée (N'Bushe Wright) et lui-même de leurs vies sans espoir.
Passé inaperçu lors de sa sortie en 1994, le film reçut pourtant un très bon accueil de la critique.
