Failure est un groupe de rock américain fondé dans les années 90 par Ken Andrews (chanteur, guitariste), Greg Edwards (bassiste) et Robert Gauss (batteur).
Histoire
En 1992 sort le premier album : "Comfort", produit par Steve Albini. Robert Gauss quitte alors la formation et est remplacé par Kellii Scott. C'est Ken Andrews qui s'occupera de la production des albums suivants : "Magnified" (1994, s'en suivra une tournée avec Tool) et "Fantastic Planet" (1996). Troy Van Leeuwen (guitariste) sera recruté pour la dernière tournée. Le groupe se séparera après celle-ci.
En 2004, Ken Andrews et Greg Edwards se retrouveront pour sortir un coffret DVD et CD : "Golden", comprenant un documentaire sur le groupe, des vidéo-clips et des morceaux inédits.
Failure est un groupe peu connu, ayant pourtant eu une influence sur des formations plus célèbres comme Cave In ou A Perfect Circle (que Troy Van Leeuwen rejoindra avant d'intégrer Queens of the Stone Age).
Lors de la conception du dernier album (Fantastic Planet), le groupe sera très influencé par le film d'animation La Planète Sauvage.
