Au football américain, on appelle face mask le fait d'attraper la grille de protection faciale du casque d'un adversaire.


  • 5 yards : Le joueur attrapé par la grille est porteur du ballon ou s'il s'agit du quarterback.
  • 15 yards : Le joueur attrapé n'est pas un des deux précédents.
  • 1er down automatique dans les deux cas sauf quand il s'agit d'une faute accidentelle.
