Un Earthwork, littéralement terrassement, est un terme anglais utilisé pour désigner une œuvre d'art créée dans la nature et dont le matériel de base est la terre.

Alors que Land Art désigne l'ensemble du courant artistique qui utilise la nature comme matériau, Earthworks s'applique surtout pour les œuvres des artistes américains qui ont utilisé les déserts du sud-ouest pour lancer des projets utilisant de gros moyens techniques et laissant une trace définitive dans le paysage.

Ce sont des expositions à New York, dans le milieu des années 1960, qui ont consacré le terme.
