Brewster Kahle (né en 1960) est un informaticien américain, diplômé du Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) en 1982. De 1983 à 1992, il travailla chez Thinking Machines Corporation en tant que chef de développement. De 1989 à 1995, il développa et promut le système WAIS, d'abord chez Thinking Machines Corporation, puis chez WAIS Inc (fondé en 1989, racheté par AOL en 1996). En 1996, il fonde Alexa Internet (racheté par Amazon.com en 1999) et co-fonde Internet Archive dont il demeure le dirigeant.
