The Masochist (alias The Prophet) de son vrai nom : Dov. J. Elkabas, est un producteur/DJ Gabber hollandais. Il produit aussi du Hardstyle sous le pseudonyme The Prophet. Dov J. Elkabas est né le 5 novembre 1968. Il a démarré sa carrière de DJ en 1983.

Vers 1991, il rejoint le groupe Oldschool Hardcore, The Dreamteam (composé de quatre membres : The Prophet, DJ Dano, Buzz Fuzz et DJ Gizmo. Ils ont ainsi demandé à mixer dans les raves Hardcore organisées par le label ID&T.

Thunderdome s'est vendu à plusieurs millions d'exemplaires. Dov. a régulièrement mixé dans les boîtes aux Pays-Bas tels que Thunderdome, Masters Of Hardcore, Hellraiser, Megarave, Earthquake, Trip 2 Dreamland, Dance 2 Eden, Mysteryland, Back 2 School, Qlimax, DefQon 1, Decibel, et Innercity. Il a aussi mixé à travers l'Europe : Utopia Sydney, Goliath Zurich, Voyager Geneva, Mayday Germany, Resident E Germany, Atlantis Los Angeles, etc.

Il a inspiré et influencé les DJ's et producteurs du le monde entier.
