RawTherapee est un logiciel libre de traitement photographique dont le but est de minimiser les pertes de qualité lors du traitement.
Il est à rapprocher en ce sens de Darktable.
Il n'est par contre pas orienté dans la gestion de collection de photos comme le sont GTKam, DigiKam, F-Spot ou d'autres spécialistes de ce domaine, ni dans le contrôle à distance de l'appareil photo numérique, comme le sont GTKam, DigiKam, Darktable ou Entangle.
