Le ratio d'aspect (facteur de forme, rapport de forme ou rapport d’aspect) désigne la forme de formats différents dont le rapport de la largeur par la hauteur reste semblable.
Exemples de ratio d'images :
- 4:3 (ou 1.33:1) : ratio d'écrans d'ordinateur, de téléviseur ;
(ou 1.414:1) : ratio de la norme ISO 216 des formats de feuilles de papier (formats A).- 3:2 (ou 1.50:1) : ratio des formats de photos standards 6 x 4 et de films 35 mm ;
(ou 1.618:1) : ratio du nombre d'or.- 16:9 (ou 1.78:1) : ratio d'un téléviseur haute définition (HDTV), vidéo, Widescreen ;
- 1.85:1 et 2.35:1 : ratio de films, Cinémascope.
