Le National Museum of Health and Medicine (NMHM) est un musée américain situé à Silver Spring, Maryland depuis l'été 2011[1] dont la mission est « de préserver, collectionner et interpréter les objets, les spécimens, les photographes et les documents qui décrivent l'histoire et la pratique de la médecine depuis des siècles [...] Les collections se concentrent particulièrement sur l'histoire et la pratique de la médecine américaine, de la médecine militaire et les problèmes courants en recherche médicale[trad 1][2]. » Le musée fut fondé en 1862 par l’U.S. Army Surgeon General William A. Hammond[3] sous le nom de Army Medical Museum (AMM)[4] et fut renommé en National Museum of Health and Medicine en 1989[5]. Il fait partie du Armed Forces Institute of Pathology[4] et est membre du National Health Sciences Consortium[6].
