International Traffic in Arms Regulations

Le International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) désigne un ensemble de règlements du gouvernement fédéral américain qui sert à contrôler les importations et les exportations des objets et des services liés à la défense nationale. Ces objets et ces services sont listés sur le United States Munitions List (USML)[1]. Ces règlements appliquent différentes clauses de la Arms Export Control Act (AECA), une loi sur les exportations d'armes, et sont décrits dans le Title 22 (Foreign Relations), Chapter I (Department of State), Subchapter M du Code of Federal Regulations. Le Département d'État des États-Unis interprète et applique l'ITAR dans le but de participer à la sécurité des États-Unis et de favoriser les objectifs de la politique étrangère des États-Unis[2].
