Ermenilda

Sainte Ermenilda (ou Eormenhild, Ermengild, morte vers 700) est une sainte anglo-saxonne du VIIe siècle.

Selon des sources tardives, elle est la fille du roi Earcombert de Kent et de Sexburge. Elle épouse le roi Wulfhere de Mercie et, à sa mort (en 675), entre dans les ordres, devenant abbesse de Minster, puis d'Ely.

Toutes les informations sur Ermenilda proviennent de sources rédigées bien après sa mort. Seule une copie d'une charte du roi Wihtred de Kent la mentionne de son vivant, en 699.

Elle est fêtée le 13 février.
