23°40′S 27°45′E / -23.667, 27.75 Ellisras ou Lephalale (en nord-sotho) est une ville minière d'Afrique du Sud située dans la province du Limpopo (ancien région nord du Transvaal). En 1960, Ellisras fut baptisée en l'honneur des fermiers Patrick Ellis et Piet Erasmus. En 2002, le gouvernement provincial du Limpopo accorda à Ellisras un nom officiel en nord sotho, Lephalale, du nom de la rivière traversant son territoire. Depuis 2000, Lephalale est également le nom de la municipalité locale amalgamant les anciennes municipalité d'Ellisras/Marapong et d'Ellisras/Tswelopele.
La municipalité locale de Lephalale compte 105 000 habitants dont 19 500 résidant dans la zone urbaine d'Ellisras.
