Windy City Times

Le Windy City Times est le journal du LGBT le plus ancien de Chicago, et la seule publication gay et lesbienne de Chicago avec un audit de publication indépendante.

Windy City Times est édité par le Windy City Media Group, qui édite également des nights-spots. WCMG produit également un podcast bihebdomadaire, Windy City Queercast, et un e-newsletter hebdomadaire.

Histoire

Windy City Times a été fondé en 1985 par quatre personnes. Un seul est encore associé à la publication. Jeff McCourt, Bob Bearden, Badanish et Tracy Baim étaient les quatre fondateurs originaux du magazine.

En 1987, Baim a laissé WCT pour fonder le journal Outlines. WCT et Outlines étaient les deux journaux gays et lesbiens primaires dans la région sur plusieurs dizaine années. En 2000, Baim a acheté WCT en arrière de McCourt et a fusionné son journal Outlines avec Windy City Times. Baim est rédacteur d'éditeur ainsi que le directeur de Windy City Times. Andrew Davis est Éditeur en chef, Kirk Williamson est directeur d'art, Terri Klinsky est l'éditeur auxiliaire et Cynthia Holmes est directrice commerciale. Les auteurs à long terme incluent Rex Wockner, Yvonne Zipter, Bob Roehr, Jonathan Abarbanel. Le directeur du nouveau média est Jean Albright, le journaliste le plus âgé est Amy Wooten.
