Wesley So (né le 9 octobre 1993 à Manille) est un grand maître philippin du jeu d'échecs.

Il a obtenu le titre de grand maître à l'âge de 14 ans[1], devenant ainsi l'un des grands maîtres les plus précoces.

Avant d'être grand maître, il était le plus jeune maître international philippin à 12 ans et 10 mois.

Carrière aux échecs

En 2006, participant à l'âge de 12 ans à l'olympiade de Turin, il devient le plus jeune joueur philippin à participer à une Olympiade[2].

Au 1er mars 2011, il est le 76e joueur mondial, ainsi que le 3e junior du monde, avec un classement Elo de 2 667 points.

En février 2011, il abandonne au tournoi A Aeroflot et termine dernier : après six rondes, cinq nulles et une défaite, déçu, Wesley So a préféré quitter le tournoi.
