En droit, un verdict indique la solution d'un procès criminel portant à la fois sur la culpabilité et sur la peine prononcée. En droit français, seules les cours d'assises prononcent des verdicts, par voie d'arrêt.
Sur la culpabilité, il peut s'agir soit d'un acquittement (non coupable), soit d'une condamnation (coupable), avec éventuellement des circonstances atténuantes.
