Verbatim est un mot qui vient du latin verbum, qui désigne un mot. Employé comme adverbe, il signifie « textuellement » ou « mot pour mot » ou encore « texto ». Employé comme nom commun (au masculin), il désigne une citation textuelle, mot à mot d'une allocution ou d'un discours.
