Totem Spirit

Totem Spirit est un groupe français de World Music originaire d'Évreux, composé de cinq membres (D-MO, Redak, Ontesse, Samir et Fred) ; une guinéenne, deux algériens et deux français. Ils ont sorti en 2000, sur le label East-West, le single Qu'est c'qui s'passe man ? Leur musique mêle rap, raï, raggamuffin, groove et Manjaque, un dialecte guinéen.

Histoire du groupe

Créé en 1995, le groupe se fait une belle réputation sur scène, en assurant les premières parties de Kassav', Francky Vincent, Organiz', Gnawa et Idir. Le groupe a participé aux sélections du Printemps de Bourges et a également à son actif de nombreux concerts dans toute la France[réf. nécessaire].

Des passages à la télévision ont ponctué leur parcours : Télé Pomme sur France 3 Normandie, Hit Machine sur M6 et C'est l'été sur France 3.

Aujourd'hui le groupe est dissous mais le leader, D-MO, continue une carrière solo. Les nouvelles compositions de D-MO sont en ligne sur la toile.
