Thomas Egerton (1540 – 1617), baron d'Ellesmere puis 1er vicomte Brackley, chancelier d'Angleterre sous Jacques Ier d'Angleterre.
Il fut chargé entre autres affaires importantes de suivre le procès du comte de Somerset, ancien favori de Jacques, accusé d'empoisonnement et s'opposa au roi qui voulait pardonner au coupable. Il résigna les sceaux en 1617, et désigna Francis Bacon pour lui succéder. Il mourut peu de jours après. Jacques Ier l'avait créé baron d'Ellesmere, vicomte de Brakley. Le titre de comte de Bridgewater lui avait été promis, mais il ne se montra pas intéressé.
