The Pigeon Detectives est un groupe de rock indépendant/post-punk britannique issu de Leeds. Il s'est formé en 2004.

Leur premier album, Wait For Me, enregistré à l'automne 2006, est produit par Will Jackson (Kaiser Chiefs / Embrace) et arrangé en partie par Cenzo Townshend (Snow Patrol / Kaiser Chiefs / Bloc Party) et Steve Harris (The Automatic / U2). L'album connaît un vif succès sur les plateformes de téléchargement en ligne dès avril 2007, et atteint la 3e place du Top 40 britannique.

Le groupe sort un deuxième album intitulé Emergency, le 9 juin 2008, un an après le premier.

Le troisième album sort en 2011 et a pour titre Up, Guard and At 'Em !.
