Tha Dogg Pound est un duo de rap américain originaire de la Côte Ouest formé par Kurupt et Daz Dillinger.

Tha Dogg Pound est formé en 1992, Il s'agit de la réunion de Daz et Kurupt, les deux protégés de Snoop Dogg.

Le groupe fait ses débuts sur l'album The Chronic de Dr. Dre. Ils font également une apparition dans Doggystyle de Snoop Dogg, et signe les bandes originales des films Murder Was The Case et Above The Rim.

Leur premier album Dogg Food, fustigé par ses allusions sexuelles et son langage grossier, sort en 1995 vendus à 3 millions d'exemplaires. Snoop Doggy Dogg le cousin de Daz Dillinger parraine le groupe. On le retrouve sur plusieurs titres de l'album dans la continuité du style musical de son album Doggystyle, avec son flow particulier et des paroles faisant l'apologie du mode de vie gangsta, le tout sur des instrumentales G-Funk.

Ils ne sortiront pas d'autres albums dans les années 1990 mais sont restés très actifs dans des featurings, comme leur participation à All Eyez On Me de 2Pac.

Les deux artistes tentent une carrière solo et souhaitent quitter Death Row Records ; Kurupt signe chez Antra Records et Daz Dillinger crée son label D.P.G. Records. Ils sortent en 2000 Dillinger & Young Gotti, un album réussi mais au succès commercial limité. Après leurs excursions respectives en solo, Daz Dillinger et Kurupt reforment le groupe sous le nom de Dogg Pound Gangsta (D.P.G.), le nom Tha Dogg Pound restant la propriété du label Death Row Records. D.P.G. appartient désormais à Doggystyle Records, le label de Snoop Dogg.

Au début de l'année 2002, Kurupt créé la sensation sur la West Coast en retournant chez Death Row Records, et par la même occasion annule le projet d'album avec Daz Dillinger qui devait sortir sur Doggystyle Records.

En 2003, l'animosité entre les deux ex-Dogg Pounds fait dire à Kurupt que Daz l'avait trahi. Kurupt signe de nouveau chez Death Row Records en 2004 et attend la sortie de son album Against Tha Grain. Daz toujours chez DPG records sort Dogg Pound Gangsta LP en 2005. Mais en avril 2005, à la conférence West Coast présidée par Snoop Dogg, Kurupt et Daz se réconcilient et enregistrent le soir même leur nouveau single Push Bacc.
