Teba

Teba

Teba est une commune d'Andalousie, dans la province de Málaga, en Espagne. Située au nord-ouest de la province, dans la comarque de Guadalteba et dans le district judiciaire d'Antequera, elle compte 4 253 habitants (2008).

Teba'

Le territoire Teba fut occupé dès le paléolithique, et vit successivement les Ibères, les Romains puis les Arabes. Il fut incorporé à la couronne de Castille en 1330 par le roi Alphonse XI de Castille, suite à la bataille de Teba au cours de laquelle mourut le chef de guerre écossais James Douglas.

Teba fut érigé en comté par Charles Quint en 1522 en faveur de Diego Ramírez de Guzmán : sa descendante Eugénie de Montijo, impératrice des Français, fut comtesse de Teba.
