T.S. Ashton ou Thomas Southcliffe Ashton est un économiste et un historien de l'économie. Son livre le plus connu est The Industrial Revolution qui étudie la période 1760 à 1830.
Biographie
T.S. Ashton est né en 1899. Il étudie à Ashton-under-Lyne puis à l'université de Manchester.
Il a été assistant à l'université de Sheffield de 1912 à 1919, puis après être passé par celles de Birmingham et de Manchester il a été professeur d'histoire de l'économie à l'université de Londres de 1944 à 1954.
Il a créé un prix délivré par la société d'histoire de l'économie « the Economic History Society ». Il décède en 1968.
