Songs For The Deaf est le troisième album des Queens of the Stone Age paru en 2002. À noter la participation de Dave Grohl (ex-batteur de Nirvana et leader des Foo Fighters) à la batterie. Comme sur leur précédent album, Mark Lanegan contribue au chant, tout comme le bassiste Nick Oliveri.

L'album a fait l'objet d'une édition spéciale double LP pour les États-Unis, par Ipecac Recordings.

Anecdotes

• Cet album fut apparemment inspiré par un ennuyeux trajet de Josh Homme à travers le désert où il ne captait sur sa radio que quelques stations en espagnol.
• Alain Johannes et Natasha Shneider ont participé à cet album en tant qu'invités. Ils ont intégré le groupe à partir de 2005.
• Alain Johannes a co-écrit la chanson Hangin Tree avec Josh Homme. La version originale de ce titre se trouve sur l'album Volumes 7 & 8 des Desert Sessions.
