Sly Boogy est un rappeur originaire de la célèbre West Coast, bastion de quelques légendes tel que The Doc, Eazy-E, 2pac... En 2002, il sortit son premier album Judgement Day. C'est en 2003-2004, après avoir sorti les single tels que "California Remix," "That'z My Name," "It's Nuthin" et "If U Got Crew" qu'il reçut une véritable reconnaissance. En 2005, Sly Boogy sorti The Fifth Letter Mixtape - Volume 1. Il a notamment participé à la bande-son du jeu vidéo True Crime: Streets of LA avec son titre "Flow".
