Slide It In est le sixième album studio du groupe Whitesnake sorti en 1984.

Historique

Paru en janvier 1984 en Europe, il sera remixé pour la sortie US à la demande du nouveau label Geffen sous la houlette de Keith Olsen. En outre , John Sykes réenregiste toutes les parties de guitare de Micky Moody et Neil Murray, les partie de basse de Colin Hodgkinson.

L'enregistrement de cet album et la tournée qui en suivi, seront marqués par un changement incessant de personnel. Arrivée de Cozy Powell à la place de Ian Paice, de Mel Galley à la place de Bernie Mardsen et de Colin Hodgkinson qui remplace Neil Murray. Micky Moody quittera le groupe fin 1983, Colin Hodgkinson sera viré début 1984, Jon Lord partira en avril 1984 pour reformer Deep Purple, Mel Galley se blessera à la main lors de la tournée européenne et quittera lui aussi le groupe. Neil Murray revient et John Sykes s'installe.

L'album entrera dans les charts britanniques à la 9e place[2] et la 42e place du Billboard 200[3] aux États-Unis où l'album sera certifié double disque de platine.

Slide It In ressortira en 2009 pour le 25 e anniversaire sous forme de Digipack avec un DVD contenant des videos officielles et des prestations en public.
