Screamo (Screamcore) désigne une variante des styles de musique emo et punk hardcore. Né en Californie dans les années 1990, le genre screamo reprend tout le lyrisme du style Emo tout en y ajoutant un son plus agressif.

Peu à peu, le terme screamo s'est démocratisé et désigne plus largement maintenant des groupes d' Emocore, de rock alternatif, de post-hardcore ou de punk hardcore plus affirmés.

Le Screamo fait appel à des cris du fond de la gorge, difficiles à exécuter qui sont souvent reproduit par le style metal, ce que l'on appellera un scream.
