Rajendravarman II

Rajendravarman II († 968) souverain de l'Empire Khmer de 944 à 968.

Il est le fils d'un beau frère de Yasovarman_I. Il ramène la capitale à Angkor, alors que l'empire khmer se délite. Il y modifie de façon significative le baray oriental et construit un temple dédié aux ancêtres, le Mébon oriental et un temple d'état, le Pre Rup. Il restructure le pays khmer en provinces et développe l'administration héréditaire.

Pendant son règne, il est plus ou moins en conflit avec le Champa de façon permanente. A sa mort en 968, il laisse le trône à Jayavarman V sous la tutelle de Yajnavaraha, prêtre, médecin, astronome et musicien à la cour de Rajendravarman II et petit fils d'Harṣavarman II.
