Righteous Brothers

The Righteous Brothers était un duo musical composé de Bill Medley et Bobby Hatfield. Ils ont enregistré des disques entre 1963 et 1975, et ont chanté en live jusqu'à la mort de Bobby Hatfield en 2003.

Leur nom vient d'un marine afro-américain dans la foule qui à la fin d'un spectacle a crié : « That was righteous, brothers »

Leur premier single était : You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin' en 1965. Il a rencontré un grand succès pour l'époque, malgré la durée qui excède la norme pour les radios. Il a été estimé que You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin' a été diffusé plus de 8 millions de fois à la radio[réf. nécessaire].

Ils eurent d'autres succès dans les années 1960 comme : Ebb Tide et Unchained Melody en 1965 et (You're My) Soul and Inspiration en 1966

Bill Medley a chanté en duo avec Jennifer Warnes : (I've Had) The Time Of My Life, du film Dirty Dancing, en 1987.

Bobby Hatfield est mort d'une overdose de cocaïne le 5 novembre 2003. Il a été trouvé mort dans un hôtel à Kalamazoo (Michigan), il devait participer à un concert des Righteous Brothers une demi-heure plus tard.
