Rhwng Gwy a Hafren ('Entre Gwy et Hafren') était une région galloise. C'était le nom des cantrefs entre les rivières Gwy et Hafren (Severn): Buellt, Cwmwd Deuddwr, Elfael et des autres. Vraisemblablement Rhwng Gwy a Hafren était une partie de l'ancienne Powys, mais on ignore tout de son histoire ancien. Il fut, semble-t-il, absorbé par le Brycheiniog.
Selon un tradition tardif, un royaume y est fondé au VIe siècle par Cawrdaf, un des fils de Caradog Freichfras.
