Sainte Opportune

La plus ancienne représentation de la sainte en Normandie (abbaye de Lessay, XIIIe siècle)

Sainte Opportune, née près d'Argentan, abbesse de Montreuil à qui l'on attribua plusieurs miracles au point qu’elle a mérité le titre de « Thaumaturge de la Normandie ».

Elle serait morte en 770 en apprenant la mort de son frère Chrodegrand ou Godegrand, évêque de Sées.

En grande vénération chez les moniales bénédictines d'Almenêches-Argentan, c'est la patronne de l'ancienne église paroissiale de Lessay[1].
