La National Medal of Arts
La National Medal of Arts (Médaille nationale des arts), aux États-Unis, est une distinction et un titre remis aux personnes sélectionnées par le National Endowment for the Arts (NEA)[1]. Elle est solennellement remise par le Président des États-Unis, c'est la plus haute récompense remise à un artiste par le gouvernement au nom du peuple des États-Unis. La médaille fut dessinée par le sculpteur Robert Graham.
La National Medal of Arts a été avalisée par le Congrès en 1984, sur recommandation du président Ronald Reagan et du président de la Committee on the Arts and the Humanities (commission des arts et lettres) dans le but d'honorer les artistes et les protecteurs de l'art.
