Middle of the Road est un groupe de pop écossais connu en Europe au début des années 1970.
Carrière
La chanteuse Sally Carr (née le 28 mars 1945), le batteur Ken Andrew (né le 28 août 1947), le guitariste Ian McCredie (né le 15 juillet 1948) et le bassiste son frère Eric McCredie (né le 17 juillet 1945 - décès le 6 octobre 2007). Groupe fondé à Glasgow le 1er avril 1970. Mais ils avaient déjà ensemble depuis 1967 sous le nom de "Part Three".
En 1970 ils déménagent en Italie car ils ne trouvaient pas le succès en Angleterre. Ils ont rencontré le producteur de musique Giacomo Tosti.
Le plus grand tube du groupe s'appelle: "Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep" en avril 1971.
En 1974 le guitariste Neil Henderson (né le 11 février 1953) de Glasgow rejoint le groupe. Il a écrit des tubes pour Middle of the Road, mais après les succès commerciaux quitte le groupe. Aujourd'hui[Quand ?] le groupe continue de se produire, sous le nom de 'Middle of the Road featuring Sally Carr'.
