L'angle d'incidence est l'angle entre la direction de propagation du rayonnement électromagnétique incident et la normale au dioptre considéré. Le rayonnement incident peut être par exemple de type lumineux.

Cet angle intervient notamment dans les lois de Snell-Descartes. Cette loi se traduit par la formule suivante: n1sini1 = n2sini2, elle permet de prévoir comment sera dévié le rayon lumineux en changeant de milieu.
