Jébuséens

Selon la Bible, les Jébuséens (en hébreu יְבוּסִי, Yevusi) étaient une des sept tribus du pays de Canaan. Ils furent les premiers habitants et le peuple fondateur de Jérusalem avant sa prise par le Roi David vers 1004 av. J.-C.

Le livre des Rois indique que Jérusalem était précédemment connue sous le nom de Jebus.

Deutéronome

Les Jébuséens sont évoqués dans le Deutéronome (Chapitre 7 Dt 7,1.) "Lorsque le Seigneur votre Dieu vous aura fait entrer dans cette terre que vous allez posséder, et qu'il aura exterminé devant vous de nombreuses nations, les Héthéens, les Gergézéens, les Amorrhéens, les Chananéens, les Phérézéens, les Hévéens et les Jébuséens, qui sont sept peuples beaucoup plus nombreux et plus puissants que vous..."
