In The Cut est un film américano-australien réalisé par Jane Campion, adapté du roman éponyme de Susanne Moore (titre français : A vif, éditions Archipel), sorti en 2003.

Synopsis

Frannie Averey (Meg Ryan) est professeur de lettres dans une université de New York qui tente d'écrire un dictionnaire de l'argot urbain. Sexuellement frustrée et introvertie, elle est amenée à collaborer avec l'inspecteur Giovanni Malloy (Mark Ruffalo) lorsque des meurtres sanglants sont commis dans son quartier. Tout deux se découvrent une attirance sexuellement intense.
