H.I.P. H.O.P. était une émission de télévision française conçue et animée par Sidney, qui a diffusé la culture Hip-hop en France et l'a rendue populaire[1].
L'émission, diffusée en 1984, est, au niveau mondial, la première émission entièrement hip-hop [2] (rap et break dance). Sa présentation était rappée. Outre Sidney (également, donc, rappeur, mais aussi danseur, notamment), l'émission a accueilli de nombreux invités, les plus importants du moment, tels que Sugarhill Gang, Kurtis Blow, Afrika Bambaataa, Herbie Hancock, The Breaks, The Tribe, The Art Of Noise, même Madonna était venue y interpréter "Holiday", de prestigieuses troupes de danseurs, et, comme invités réguliers, les « Paris City Breakers » ou le graffeur new-yorkais Futura 2000[3]. Parmi les jeunes adolescents « breakant » sur le plateau se trouvent les figures du rap d'aujourd'hui (Stomy Bugsy, JoeyStarr par exemple)[4].
H.I.P. H.O.P. a été la première émission de télévision présentée par un animateur noir en France.
