Gunthamund (ou Gundamund ou plus rarement Gonthamond), fut roi des Vandales et des Alains d'Afrique (« Rex Wandalorum et Alanorum ») de décembre 484 (ou janvier 485) à 496.

Fils du prince Gento[1], l'un des fils du roi Genséric, il devint à la mort du roi Hunéric le 23 décembre 484, le membre mâle le plus âgé de la famille royale hasding, bien qu'il ne soit âgé que d'une trentaine d'années lors de sa montée sur le trône.

Il dut faire face aux incursions des bandes de pillards berbères qui menacent toujours un peu plus le royaume vandale de Carthage, se faisant de plus en plus pressant.

En 491, il fut battu en Sicile par les Ostrogoths du roi Théodoric le Grand[2].

Il poursuivit les persécutions de chrétiens, initiées par son père et son grand-père.

Il meurt précocement en 496 ou 497[3] lors d'une partie de chasse au cerf, noyé accidentellement[réf. nécessaire].

Son frère, Thrasamund, lui succède.
