Synopsis

Le 1er maître Randall est une légende du sauvetage en mer, le nageur-sauveteur le plus décoré de l'US Coast Guards, les garde-côtes américains. Suite à un accident en haute mer dans lequel toute son équipe trouve la mort, il est envoyé en Floride pour former les futurs nageurs des Coast Guards. On suivra donc la formation et la sélection impitoyable des futurs nageurs sauveteurs...Parmi les nouvelles recrues, Jack Fischer, un jeune champion de natation aussi doué que frimeur et inconscient. Randall voit en lui un potentiel énorme et va tenter de lui montrer ce qu'est vraiment le métier de sauveteur en mer...
